The CHU Teh-Chun Prize Celebrates Creativity Among Secondary School Students

In June, the CHU Teh-Chun Foundation awarded the CHU Teh-Chun Prize at the International School of Dakar (ISD) and the International School of Geneva (Ecolint), reaffirming its commitment to fostering artistic education among younger generations.

Open to secondary school students, the Prize invites participants to engage with the artistic universe of CHU Teh-Chun while developing their own creative practice. Drawing inspiration from his work, students are encouraged to observe, experiment and express their personal vision through a thoughtful and sensitive artistic approach. Through this initiative, the Foundation seeks to inspire curiosity, encourage dialogue across cultures, and share with younger generations the values that shaped CHU Teh-Chun’s life and work: creative freedom, openness to the world, and a lifelong spirit of artistic exploration.

The ISD Jury carefully reviewed this year’s artistic submissions and was deeply impressed by the richness of the contemporary approaches, the quality of the visual research, and the students’ artistic commitment inspired by the work of CHU Teh-Chun. The 2026 prize winners are:

🏆 First Prize — Kristen Sendogo
Awarded for a work of remarkable expressive power, combining sensitivity, innovation, and a strong artistic vision. The jury particularly praised the depth of the visual research, technical mastery, and the meaningful connection established with CHU Teh-Chun’s artistic legacy.

🥈 Second Prize — Emma Brandau
Recognized for a refined and compelling proposal distinguished by its creative commitment and contemporary visual language. Her work reflects a promising and highly personal artistic exploration inspired by the artistic universe of CHU Teh-Chun.

🥉 Third Prize — Iona Salhab
Honoured for the originality of her approach, the sensitivity of her work, and the quality of her visual research. The jury also highlighted her profound understanding of CHU Teh-Chun’s artistic vision.

At Ecolint, the jury examined this year’s artistic projects with great interest. It praised the diversity of artistic expression, the maturity of the students’ creative approaches, the high quality of the works produced, and their ability to interpret the artistic universe of CHU Teh-Chun with sensitivity and originality. Following its deliberations, the jury awarded the following distinctions:

🏆 First Prize — Olivia Sandall
The jury recognized a work of exceptional artistic intensity, distinguished by its carefully balanced composition, accomplished pictorial research, and a deeply personal interpretation of the artist’s legacy. The work stands out for its harmony, coherence, and evocative power.

🥈 Second Prize — Delphine Kirsch Wood
This distinction recognizes a work of great refinement, characterized by an inventive approach, a sophisticated sense of colour, and a confident artistic voice.

🥉 Third Prize — Dariya Kisyuk
The jury honoured a work distinguished by its authenticity, creativity, and the relevance of its artistic research. Her approach reflects genuine artistic reflection and a distinctive contemporary interpretation of CHU Teh-Chun’s work.

The Foundation warmly congratulates all the students who participated in this year’s edition, as well as the Prize recipients, whose talent, commitment and imagination reflect the richness of this artistic exchange.
