Private screening – “Chu Teh-Chun” documentary film

December 2020

This year, the Fondation CHU Teh-Chun celebrates the 100th anniversary of the artist’s birth (1920-2014) with a documentary film retracing his life.

A major figure in lyrical abstraction modernist art, Franco-Chinese artist CHU Teh-Chun (1920 – 2014) would have been 100 years old this year, and to mark the occasion, this documentary invites you to discover the story and remarkable work of this prolific artist.

Directed by Christophe Fonseca, produced by Les Films de l’Odyssée, combining interviews with art experts and the painter’s descendants with visits to the family archives, the documentary showcases CHU’s contribution to the lyrical abstraction movement, while at the same time highlighting his artistic skill and multidisciplinary approach to his work.
Due to the global health situation and in advance of the official screenings scheduled for 2021 around the world, the documentary film was previewed exclusively for the press and a limited audience late this year :

Paris – 15 October at the Fondation Jérôme Seydoux-Pathé, and 22 October at Le Royal Monceau hotel. A screening at the Musée Guimet will follow – date to be confirmed
